BTC/USD position size calculator.

Define the possible loss first. Enter your account balance, risk percentage, planned entry and stop to estimate a BTC quantity.

Position size = dollar risk ÷ absolute distance between entry and stop. This is an educational estimate before fees, spread, slippage, funding, margin, and taxes.

How the calculation works

Dollar risk = account balance × risk percentage. The calculator divides that amount by the absolute price distance between entry and stop. The result is the BTC quantity that would lose approximately the selected dollar amount if filled and exited exactly at those prices.

Why the real result can differ

Stops do not guarantee a fill price. Volatility, slippage, fees, spread, funding, leverage, liquidation rules and venue specifications can all change the outcome. Spot, perpetual futures, dated futures, exchange-traded products and other contracts are not interchangeable.

Use the number as a ceiling

A calculated quantity is not a recommendation. Round down to the precision your venue supports, confirm available collateral, and consider using less risk around scheduled events or thin liquidity.
